Christmas Vacation

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas! We have enjoyed every second of spending time with family, and now with just a few days left of our vacation...I am so sad! It has (as always) gone by way too quickly.
Claire has had such a big time. She, for the first time ever, could not sleep the night before Christmas Eve. I made the mistake of telling her that when she woke up she would get to open her presents (we do Christmas with Charlie's family on Christmas Eve) and she was still up after ten! I won't be doing that next year!
As for Grayson, he has handled having his routine messed up like a champ. He only cried a few times when he was passed to a family member he didn't know. Other than that, he really has proved himself to be a laid back, happy baby.
Here are some moments from our time with family!

Enjoying the paper snow while seeing her cousin perform in the Nutcracker.
Claire and her cousins at the Nutcracker. She was so happy to give cousin Lily flowers!
Holding baby Jesus at her cousins' Christmas play.
Making Christmas cookies!
Opening Grayson's first Christmas gifts!
Christmas with Gramps and Lu...posing with her princess blanket!
Uncle Philip's gift to Grayson...a billy bob teeth pacifier! Ha!
We are so blessed to spend the holidays surrounded by family and friends. My Dad read the Christmas story to Claire before she went to bed on Christmas Eve and this was the first year that Claire had an idea of what Christmas is really about.
Now we are getting ready to celebrate one more thing...Claire's 3rd birthday! She wanted a Minnie party this year and we are going to have her party on New Year's Eve. She has been saying for a couple of months now that after Jesus' birthday it is her turn! I can't believe she will be turning 3, where does the time go? :)

Santa's Visit

Well the time has finally come for our annual trip home to spend the holidays with family. We have clothes in the suitcases and a backpack full of toys to keep Claire busy! It will be a long day of flying, but we are super super excited!
With this upcoming trip, we had a hard time deciding what was best to do about Santa's visit. So, after "writing him a letter and asking him to come early" we had a nice family Christmas together last weekend. I honestly had never seen Claire so hyper! She made cookies with Charlie and me and stayed up late waiting to try one before going to bed.
She woke up at her usual time (yes!) and rushed downstairs to see what Santa had brought!
That Santa had a hard task this year! A dollhouse for Claire and a Exersaucer for Grayson. I bet he worked on putting those together a looooong time!

They both got a few smaller items in their stockings too, and we gave Claire her birthday present early so she can enjoy it on the plane...a MobiGo. It is a gaming system by VTech and she looooves it! I never in my wildest dreams thought that she would learn how to play the games so quickly, but I guess kids are just wired to know technology now-a-days! Charlie had out his laptop, and I was using mine, and Claire had out her MobiGo and said, "look! we ALL have pooters now!!" Ha!
It is so fun to see Christmas through your children's eyes!
