A Movie and a big bag of Popcorn

Today Claire saw her first movie. She was so excited...mainly for the popcorn! We chose to take her to see Kung Fu Panda 2. We own the first movie and read some reviews that said it was clean and had a good message. It is hard to know now-a-days if the movies are going to be clean or not!!
Walking up to the theatre.
This was Charlie and my first time seeing a movie in Canada. Not much to compare, although it is a lot more expensive and there isn't a matinee discount!
Ready to go in!
We got the large popcorn...which was huge! Claire never stopped eating. I got full and Charlie got full, but everytime I looked at Claire she was still pulling out more and chomping away!

The movie was really cute and we loved watching it through Claire's eyes. She laughed out loud several times and kept saying, "Look Mom! What's Panda doing now?" It was definitely a good first movie for her to see.
I keep thinking about how these last few weeks are going to be the end of our family of three! We are enjoying Claire so much but are excited to welcome Grayson!

May Long Weekend

We have had such a nice holiday weekend! Here in Alberta they celebrate the whole weekend and Monday is Victoria Day, in honor of the Queen's birthday. The weather has been beautiful, and I think I can (hopefully) safely say that the warm weather has finally arrived and the snow is gone for a while! We took advantage of the nice weather and took off yesterday for Fort Edmonton's grand re-opening. I have already posted two posts on Fort Edmonton (here and here), so I'll just share a few pictures from our day.
Claire and me on the train ride to the fort.

There were many extra activities in honor of the re-opening of the park. Claire was all about the petting zoo. Right when she ran in she went straight for the pot bellied pig. She said every animals was, "sooo cute!" Charlie and I really liked the baby goats. They were only a week old and were so tiny and friendly.

We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed walking around and looking in the old buildings. We found some horses that were hungry for all the grass you wanted to feed them. Claire got a kick out of picking the grass for them.
Hopefully we will have many more weekends like this one...there is nothing like enjoying your family in the warm sunshine!

31 weeks...on the home stretch!

Please ignore the wet hair and pajama pants...I took this picture myself, ha! And isn't the doorknob at the perfect spot? I hope my belly button isn't that bad!
Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: I'm 31 Weeks! Nine more weeks to go, can you believe it?
Size of Baby: The baby is around 16 inches long and weighs over three pounds. Like carrying four naval oranges!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: If I am figuring this correctly...I think I have gained about 20 pounds so far.
Maternity Clothes: All maternity at this point. I even need some bigger clothes, some of the pants are squeezing the life out of me!
Gender: It's a BOY! Grayson Earl Mays!
Movement: I feel him a lot! I think he will like gymnastics like his sister with all of his crazy movements.
Cravings:I think at some point I have craved everything. But, mostly I have craved baked goods lately (I have made a chocolate chip cake twice now) and peanut butter.
Symptoms: I feel pretty good. I am having a bit of trouble getting comfortable while sleeping, but other than that I don't have any complaints.
Best moment this week: I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is looking good. Claire went too and really enjoyed hearing Baby Grayson's heartbeat. She said it was a "pop pop" sound.

From Guest Room to Big Girl Room

Today was an eventful day here in the Mays house. We said goodbye to our visiting family who spent ten great days with us, and converted our guest room into Claire's new big girl room. I will post the pictures from our adventures with family as soon as I get them!
Charlie went straight to work building Claire's bed and we moved out her clothes, toys, and pictures. We were sad to see the "flower/lamb" theme go, but excited about putting in her new Owl themed bedding when we get it in July. Funny how both Grayson and Claire have owls in their new bedding!
In my big girl bed!
Is it just me or does she look SO big in that bed? Charlie and I both got a little misty-eyed when we were working on her old room and found Claire playing with her toys all by herself in her new room. She just has grown up so fast!
And now Claire's old room is waiting for its new owner...
This drawer full of blue socks looks so strange!
I hope you all had a very happy Mother's Day!
